Diode laser 808 and 1064 nm, and DEKA Motus PRO from December
Laser hair removal works on the pigment of the hair: the light heats the follicle and gradually weakens it, reducing regrowth session after session. At our studio in Porta Romana we use a diode laser with two wavelengths, 808 nm and 1064 nm, so we can choose the right setting for your skin type, from very fair to dark skin.
From December we will also offer the DEKA Motus PRO, with Alexandrite 755 nm and Nd:YAG 1064 nm and Moveo® technology, designed for fast and comfortable sessions.
808 nm
The most versatile wavelength, especially suitable for fair and medium skin types with dark hair.
1064 nm
Penetrates deeper and is less absorbed by the pigment in the skin: the reference wavelength for darker skin types IV to VI.

How it works
The sessions
Several sessions are needed, usually 6 to 8, every 4 to 8 weeks depending on the area, because the laser works on hairs in the active growth phase.
Before your session
Shave the area the day before. Avoid sun exposure, sunbeds and self-tanner for 4 weeks before and after, and avoid waxing or plucking during the treatment.
Other options
Electrolysis for light hair
The laser cannot see hair without pigment. For white, blond or red hair we use Apilus electrolysis, which treats each follicle individually.
Darker skin
The 1064 nm wavelength allows us to treat skin types IV to VI with appropriate settings and a test patch when needed.
FAQ
Does it hurt?
Most people feel a warm, short snapping sensation. The skin is cooled during the session to make it more comfortable.
Can I do it on dark skin?
Yes, with the 1064 nm wavelength and suitable settings. We often start with a small test area.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the area. We explain the costs during the first visit, which costs €100.
